What this site keeps
When you subscribe to the newsletter we keep your email address. When you write to the desk we keep what you type: your name, your email, the subject and your message. Nothing else on the site asks for anything about you.
Why
To send you the morning edition, and to read and answer what you send us. Nothing is used for advertising profiles and nothing is sold or passed on.
Tips and private names
If you tick "keep my name private" on the contact form, only the editor on duty sees who you are. Your name is not passed to the reporter without your say.
Where it lives
Messages arrive in the desk inbox. They are deleted when the conversation is over, or after a year, whichever comes first. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Ask us at any time what we hold about you, ask for a copy, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to the email on the contact page and we answer within a week.
This page
It is written in plain words on purpose. If a law where you publish asks for more, add it here.
